render one page

I'd like to render just one page (the home page) to a slightly  
different location than the rest.

right now pages all are rendered into..
    http://www.dailyegyptian.com/spring06/index.html

and that's great. I like the directory structure in the URL which  
makes it easier for people to find old articles.

but I'd like to get that index page (ONLY) up to the root level...
   http://www.dailyegyptian.com/index.html

It would actually have to be rendered to both locations to keep  
everything correct.
Is this going to be a lot of trouble? ;-)
